Privacy Policy

What information do we ask for? 

When you register on the SHINE Films website, we ask for the following information:

●      Your Name

●      Your Email address

●      Confirmation that you are over 16 years of age

Why do you need this information?

We use this information to give you access to the SHINE Films resources including the Guides.  We will use the supplied email address to keep you informed about SHINE Films news, resources, Top Tips and plans for the coming year.

For analysis, reporting and evaluation purposes, we also ask you to let us know:

●      Which film series you will be using

●      What your role with young people is

●      In which country you will be showing the films

●      What context you will be using the films

●      Where you will be showing the films

●      How many participants you expect

●      Where you heard about Shine Films

The Shine partners may, very occasionally, wish to contact you regarding other news, resources and events that may be of interest to you.  You can change your preference regarding these communications at any time or you can unsubscribe.  To do this, please contact the Data Controller:

Who do you share my information with? 

SHINE Films is a joint project run by Crown Jesus Ministries, Scripture Union England & Wales, Scripture Union Scotland, Scripture Union Ireland and Jesus Film Project.  Only specific staff from each organisation can access the information you provide.

We will not sell or share your personal information with 3rd parties or charities for marketing.

How is it kept secure?

The registration information is stored in a password protected Google Drive folder.  This data will then be used to contact you via email using Microsoft Outlook, Apple Mail or other secure email applications.

The SHINE Films team may also use Mailchimp to get in touch with you (for further information on Mailchimp, please see our Third parties section below).

For how long do you retain my data?

We will use your details to contact and support you before, during and after your SHINE Films events as well as keeping you informed of plans for the coming year.  Your contact details will therefore be held for up to 2 years.  We will still ask you however to re-register each year you run SHINE Films.

Who can register on the Shine Films website?

To register on the Shine Films website, you need to be 16 years of age or older.  When registering, you will be asked to confirm this.

Third Parties:

Mailchimp
We may use a third-party provider, Mailchimp, to send out SHINE Films mailings. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our mailings. Mailchimp is based in the US, but has certified its compliance with the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework. For more information please see Mailchimp’s privacy notice.

SHINE Films is a partnership between Crown Jesus Ministries, Scripture Union England & Wales, Scripture Union Scotland, Scripture Union Ireland and Jesus Film Project. The Shine website shinefilms.org is hosted by Squarespace.
